CHIEF PURPOSE ACTIVIST

Hello and thanks for coming to check out my website.

I am an author, speaker, podcaster and Chief Purpose Activist at my consultancy, The Cause Effect.

I help leaders transform their businesses by defining,

articulating and embedding social purpose in their business in a meaningful way.

“Profit with Purpose” is my mantra. My strongly held belief is that if your purpose is not responsible for your success, then you’re probably a) in the wrong game and/or b) not thinking big enough. Because it is only when purpose drives profit, that your purpose becomes sustainable within your organisation. And it is only when it is sustainable, that it becomes scalable.

I’m talking about purpose as the beating heart of an organisation. Inspiring and energising its people, shaping its culture, creating collaboration opportunities with partners, building movements of change through its marketing, driving innovation and creating meaningful impact that stakeholders feel proud about and ultimately creating strong, resilient and human businesses for the twenty-first century.

If anyone had told me six or seven years ago that I would be a two-time author, a speaker and a podcaster, I would have laughed at them. But it just goes to show what can happen when your own purpose becomes patently clear. It’s a driving and powerful energising force.

My background in marketing and as an agency owner has provided me with the skills, insight and expertise to help business leaders understand and navigate their path to purpose with confidence.

Today, helping businesses do well by doing good is my niche. I have a deep understanding of what works and what doesn’t. My vision for the future is simple: brands drive profit through purpose; business and marketing become a force for good. I am on a mission to make Social Purpose a vital part of business here in Australia and around the world.

This approach to business connects with people in such a powerful way. The leaders I work with feel the same way I do. They are seeking “better”. They want business success, but they also want it to be meaningful. They sense the opportunity for their business to do more for their people and their communities - and they’re grasping it.

Today business offers extraordinary opportunities. Those leading with an authentic social purpose are thriving. If this resonates with you, come and join us. The time is now and our best is yet to come.

FOR LOVE AND MONEY- THE BOOK

Cover Transparent_edited_edited.png

How does purpose help you grow a profitable business that people love?

What exactly does it mean to be a purpose-led business?

What higher purpose should your business serve and how do you serve itin a meaningful way?

Purpose in business has become a common expectation, from employees, customers and investors. Yet many business leaders struggle to understand what it means for their business.

For Love & Money offers clarity on the most recent evolution of organisational purpose. It equates the demand for purpose in business with social purpose. Business as a force for good. Sharing inspiration from
businesses such as Intrepid Travel, Outland Denim, Patagonia, Unilever, PayPal and Future Super, this book makes a powerful connection between the two things that drive social purpose-led businesses (which are inextricably linked):

LOVE. Of people, planet and humanity. It’s the raw emotion behind purpose. And MONEY. Profit and commercial success.

Why are they interlinked? Because when purpose drives profit, it offers a business the ability to play a bigger game; to be ambitious in the change you seek to create over the long term. Meanwhile you build a meaningful business for everyone involved; you attract passionately invested employees, customers, partners, suppliers and investors; and you build trust, the currency of a valued business.
